Giraffe, Finished

Well....once again my scanner and I have been struggling. I can't figure out how to turn this, sorry. It's hard to believe I used to be the technology person in the school where I taught. But that was the nineties, and haven't we come a long way since then? So, if you don' t mind turning your head a little, please leave a comment on my giraffe. I used Wallis paper and it seemed to stop accepting color all at once, but after a shot of fixative, it took some more. Who knows? But I think it's done, what do you think?

Grrrrr....

Yes, that's me growling and muttering things under my breath, because for some reason this giraffe is one of the most difficult things I've ever drawn / painted. Believe me, I spent hours on this today. I think it is the three dimensional feel in the center of his long face. That's where I'm really stuck. And I've tried to incorporate some greens in the shadows but that didn't work and got lost anyway. Well, sorry about the whining. I'll get it one way or the other.

My Difficult Giraffe

This is another shot from my day at the Lafayette Park Zoo. I tried to finish this today because it was dreary and rainy outside and I had no other pressing things to do. But I don't know where the day went. And I'm having a harder time with him than I usually do on things. So...tomorrow.  And I have some collage ideas I want to work on, too. I've been visiting collage artists' blogs and I've seen some really exciting work, and it looks too good to miss.
