Giraffe, Finished

Well....once again my scanner and I have been struggling. I can't figure out how to turn this, sorry. It's hard to believe I used to be the technology person in the school where I taught. But that was the nineties, and haven't we come a long way since then? So, if you don' t mind turning your head a little, please leave a comment on my giraffe. I used Wallis paper and it seemed to stop accepting color all at once, but after a shot of fixative, it took some more. Who knows? But I think it's done, what do you think?

He looks so gentle....lovely job, Deborah!

If you have a graphics program, there should be a 'rotate' tool that you can use to turn him the right way. Failing that, if you want to send me the pic by email, I'd be happy to turn him the right way for you and send him back.

Thanks, Serena. But I have good programs, it's just that I scanned it and couldn't get it into the iPhoto program and had to leave it on the desktop. Thanks for your positive feedback, you are a great supporter and I appreciate it.

What a lovely painting of one of my favourite creatures. Thanks for visiting my blog, Deborah. I'm sure you'd love to see the (baby)giraffe photos taken at Perth Zoo at http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/photogallery/2007/12/28/1198778682907.html

Giraffes are such quirky creatures and they are very, very hard to draw! I had to do two for work, and even though I was working from my own photo reference, the boss kept demanding reworks, despite the fact that they just ARE like that!

But they're so gentle. I love their long lashes. You've captured him, or her! - perfectly :)
