Inspiration

It seems as if whatever I put my hands on goes wrong this weekend. On Saturday I worked on a miniature portrait for three and a half hours and then painted over it. I've been struggling with two miniatures for weeks. There have been hours of work on them, but they sit on a shelf in my studio. Nothing has looked right to me.

Then yesterday I read an article in the September 2009 Artist's Magazine. You have to look at it! Ann Bagby shows how she put her mixed media portraits together. So I got inspired......now I would cut my own stamps and prepare a background for the miniature portraits! New energy for new work!! So far I have only cut the stamps and drawn one portrait, though I am in the middle of printing my papers. Also, when I get tired of working tiny, I'm switching off to the first of my colored pencil portraits of the most adorable twins, above.
