Cupcakes
11x14
Today was a lesson in humility. Apparently I needed it. When I first saw the photo for the Different Strokes From Different Folks challenge, I thought it would be a snap. No problem. Just some circles. Well, let me tell you, it kicked my butt. I'm still not happy with it and I spent way too long trying to get it right. One difficulty was the Yes canvas I used. It made the acrylics just slide around and gum up. I think the best way to approach this is with watercolors or liquid acrylics used like watercolors. So, I learned a few lessons today!

This is so mush fun. A painting a day. I look forward to it and am enjoying it sooooooo much. Thanks Deborah.
i think it's delightful!!! seriously!
I know what you mean about hard I have just finished my version in acrylics and wished I had used oils, boy this was a hard one, but you mastered it though.
Debra, there are a lot more to these little cakes than meets the eye. Yours has a great feel to it which I really like.
I would agree that the cupcakes were harder than they appeared, Debra. Ultimately you prevailed and kicked back!
These look great!
I struggled with the point of view, causing the cupcakes to look like something other than cupcakes.
That, and I had to keep getting up to nibble on something chocolate...
I like them! I appreciate your struggle; but we keep learning... that's what it's all about, right?
I like your entry to DSFDF, well done
I like that attitude, Deborah!
You made a mistake but learned something in the process.
I love how the cupcakes are all lined up. And the colored sprinkles every which way add a touch of whimsy to this painting.
Delicious!!
