Cradled Wood Panels

Finally, these are finished. It's been weeks, really. It's just that I've been working a  little here, a little there. You know. We artists are not generally focused for long, we always have so many ideas that need attention. Well, these are 16x16, on cradled birch panels. I really like using these because in the long run, they cost less than having something framed. Even if I knew how to frame it would be a chore, I'm positive, but isn't it crazy how much it costs? Especially if you need a mat cut? The one above is just the close up of the bird, which I photographed in my yard and still can't identify. Any help? His head and neck really glistened in the sun, turning green and blue.

Sorry about the next photo. I tried to get one of the entire thing that I could crop, but this is as good as it gets today. So, this is the partner piece, and both have orange sides, a shade lighter than the orange in the painting. In both of them, the whole piece is very glossy, and the birds are matte. I'm leaving it that way so the birds really stand out on the background.

Great pieces Deborah! Love the birds! Can't help you out on identifying them but they look great!

I agree with you Deborah about artists having lots of ideas, often at the one time! Trying to stay in focus I find is difficult on occasions. One idea leads to another, then another! I thinks it's a matter of one's priorities in life as well as art.
Love the birds, especially the first one.

Deborah!

Wow!!!

They turned out amazing! These two pieces have such a unique look to them. I've never seen art quite like this!

The backgrounds look so abstract and almost dreamlike in appearance! Like an abstract storm of wild images!

So, so neat!!

I'd love to see you do more like these!
