Poppies

Last weekend my son Adam and I spent time with my sister and her family at her little farm in northern Virginia. I took loads of photos of the gorgeous flowers she had growing all along one of the picket fences that surround the backyard area. I have given myself an assignment, because I feel so unfocused and can't decide what to work on next. My assignment is to only work on the poppies all week, and I can paint or draw or whatever I feel like. Today I started on some small studies in paint, and I also prepared some papers to use during the week. So check back on Tuesday ( I'm working at school tomorrow) to see what I've done.

Hey beautiful Woman! It was so good to hear from you. I just love this picture of the poppies! They are almost as beautiful as you he he he he! I love flowers, but I sure can put a hurting on them. I don't know what it is. I put my hands on them and they curl up and die! I'll just stick to drawing he he he! Thanks again so much for dropping by!

Your sister's backyard looks awesome, Deborah!

Just the right amount of man-made and completely natural landscaping. Does this make sense?

The stone border, the poppies, the large tree, the white picket fence....I want a yard like that!

I'll tell her you said that, Dean. It really is wonderful there, you can see the horses in the field and all of the gardens and walkways are just awesome.
