Happy to be Back

I've been gone from this blog for over a week, but I haven't left my house for anything except to get groceries. And I really don't have much to show for the time, but I've done a lot of thinking. Well, brooding to be more exact. I won't bore you by rehashing it. It's just what all of us who are creative go through. You know, why am I doing this, who really cares, does my art make one bit of difference in the world. You know.

Karin Jurick, a well known oil painter, has started a new blog where anyone can submit an original take on a picture Karin will post each Wednesday. This week the picture is of her lately departed little pal, Jack. Go to this site to see the pictures. Here is mine.

Deborah, I love your sensitive painting of Jack. Is this in acrylics?

Hi Deborah,

Congratulations on your Etsy adventure. I love your painting of Jack.

So you have been brooding...did you get any clarity on the issues or did you decide to just just keep on going? :)

Keep up the great work with the acrylics!

ohh this is a fun idea.. your paintings are all so beautiful btw.. and i too wondered about that.. "does my art make one bit of difference in the world?".. but then again for illustration friday, getting to know all these artists.. pro or not, made me a better person and helped me through my "dark years".. so i guess making art affects people even if we do not know or intentionally do so. 8)

have a great week!

Hi Deborah,
Great approach to the photo. What a fun idea! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I have enjoyed reading through yours (very inspiring). What sort of support did you paint on, kind of looks like Yupo paper?
