Looking Forward to the Fall
Monday, August 25, 2008
Monday, Monday
Cooper decided to keep still for a second so I could take his picture. The only time he stops is when he's sleeping. I got some good shots, but this is the best. Now, to find the time to start drawing it......
Saturday Chores
14x11
This is finally finished, I think. I have to look at my work for a few days before I know it's really finished. Now there are six pieces with the chair included. They are all different sizes. I have a few more to do and then I'll make decision about how to sell them.
Decisions.....today I made some! One, I'll open an Etsy store to see how that goes. I will offer my art work, some note cards, and some of the jewelry I have left. It will be interesting to see how things go. Two, I will finally get my website finished. I started to put it together in April and it's just been sitting there. That will be done by the weekend.
Tomorrow I'll be at Blue Skies, where I'll work on a new piece. And on Wednesday, Ilse and I are venturing to Norfolk and Virginia Beach to shop at Jerry's Artarama and take pictures at the Norfolk Zoo. I have so many great pictures to work from but none of animals, so I'm excited.

Wow, It's Wednesday
Yesterday I worked at Blue Skies, which I have to do one day a month as it is a members' gallery, and I replaced my price tags with something more professional looking, but it's not very visible here. But anyway, this is my own three foot wide space at the gallery. A few weeks ago I switched out all of my work, so now I need to find another gallery to hang what is sitting in the back of my van. And that was one of my goals to achieve by November, so I'll get on that soon.
Yikes! Half of the week is gone already, and I still haven't posted my goals for this week. Remember, I said I'd post them in my studio so I can't forget them, but I seem to have forgotten. Well, I'll do it tonight so I can be productive tomorrow and Friday. Saturday is going to be a little busy, and my sister and I are taking both cats to the vet. And then Sunday is our birthday ( my sister and I both have the same day, ten years apart) so we decided to treat ourselves to a nice brunch without anyone else, and that means her three lovely sons and her husband. None of them particularly like to sit in a nice restaurant for long.
One of my goals for last week was to finish my miniatures, and here they are. I have simple, two inch wide frames for them.

And, finally, some peppers I started yesterday and finished today. Ta da!

Crash
I've been hit by some uncomfortable days this week, so not much has been accomplished, but I did get some work done on my fishing boys. I know the rest of this will come together over the weekend. I tried to keep practicing my painting, but nothing worth showing.

And this morning! I decided to paint a green bowl I bought a few months ago at Blue Skies. I like to pick up unique pottery when I see it. Well, I put this bowl in my lap, grabbed my wheels, spun around to the table, and the bowl flew out of my lap as my cats headed for the hills. Crash!! I can't believe I did that!
There used to be some super glue in my junk drawer, but when I finally found it, I saw it had dried up long ago, so......then I decided to paint the pieces of the bowl, but tried to do it on a new canvas board, and realized I can't cheat, but must gesso first.
