I Can Hear James Brown Singing " I Feel Good"

Yes. I feel good. This afternoon I got into my studio and was transported to that space where we create and get lost in it. No time constraints, no demands. While I was there I finished a few paintings I had started the other day. I don't know what to think, but looking at them makes me happy, heck, painting them made me happy.

While painting them, I felt almost as if someone was guiding my hand, especially while using the pen to draw the lines. They were done slowly and carefully. I don't know. What do you think? My sister, also an artist, suggested that I hang them at a new gallery and see what happens.

Don't you just love being "in the zone"? Nothing quite like it!
As to the gallery - go for it.
how large are these? I'd love to see them HUGE! Very reminiscent of Miro - one of my favourite artists.

I love them, love them, LOVE THEM!!! I also would like to see them huge. They are so joyful and full of life. I can feel your happiness through them. Please have the confidence to put them in a gallery.

These are all 8x10 because I was afraid to try them bigger, but I agree, they should be large. Thanks for the encouragement!

I love where you're going with this! It's going to be interesting to see the effect on your portraits (which are lovely by the way).

Love the pink piece which always cheers me even though I haven't given into the pink obsession yet lol All of these look like figurative art, as if the shapes are talking to each other, what do you think?

Hi, Deborah! I haven't been here in a little while, and oh, to see all you've done and stretched is awe-inspiring! These pieces are such a breakout and fun and free. They reminded me of Miro, too.

Congratulations on your new granddaughter! I hope you have the most splendid time in FL!

I especially like the last one here too! I absolutely understand how you're feeling with these works. I think it's the same thing that I get out of doing the backgrounds on my artwork: it's always an experiment and just plain fun! And it's always great to surprise yourself :)

I also agree that you might have fun trying these at a larger size. Don't be afraid :)

Having said that - I've been staring at a blank 70 x 90cm for days and I'm pretty sure that I just need to admit that I'm scared to start it, since I'm so used to working on a smaller size!

I love all three of these and hope to see you do more.

I believe abstract pieces like these should be free of constraints. So you're definitely doing it right, Deborah.

Very whimsical, simplistic, and full of color. Reminds me of something you'd see in a children's book.
