Isn't He Cute?

Fishing Friends
6x18

The beginning of today was great; I got up ready to take on the world. But by ten I was just crushed by pain, which I deal with every day. I can never predict when it might get bad enough to stop me from what I'm doing, but that's how most of today was. I did get a good start on the fishing picture, but there is alot to go on it. Hopefully tomorrow....

The alleged tomato thief
There has been a bunny living under my deck for the last few weeks and I think he (or she) has been stealing my tomatoes. Let me explain....I have two, pitiful tomato plants on my deck. This is the first time I've tried to grow anything. Well, every time a tomato was almost ripe enough to pick, I'd notice the bottom eaten out of it. I couldn't figure this out until I saw the bunny. So, if you are a rural person, could this be happening? Do bunnies even eat tomatoes? Today I finally got one before it was eaten, and it was beautiful and ripe. What did I do? Save it for a salad, slice it for a sandwich? No. I ate it. Yum.

This is my painting practice for today. It's not great, but it's practice, right? Every day now I'm learning more and more about how to handle acrylics. I'm getting a feel for various brushes. So it's all worth it, right?

Hello again Deborah,
I must say that your fishing painting is just excellent. Love your composition. So sorry about the pain. You are in my thoughts and prayers today. The Bunny is just yummy. I want to take him home he is so cute. Really great work. You press through your pain and still you produce such wonderful artwork. You inspire me in ways that you can only imagine. Just wanted to check on you and see how you where doing. Take care and get some work so you can create more beautiful works of art.

I'm sorry to hear about your pain. I hope it is subsiding. Your fishing painting is exceptional! I really love how you've rendered that one gentleman's back. Simply lovely. Your little birdie sure is sweet, too.

Yes, I think that's your tomato thief! I do believe that rabbits will eat tomatoes. Come to think of it, some of mine were half eaten back when I had a garden, too. Here in Arizona, we watch the desert bunnies eat the prickly pear fruit. I don't know how they do it. I picked a prickly pear today and got a lot of tiny needles in my fingers.

Feel better. I look forward to seeing more paintings!

hi deborah, thank you for visiting my blog!! this post made me chuckle. at my old house, we had rabbits that would climb up 8, yes 8 steps onto our deck and eat all my potted goodies. it took me a while to figure it out, if it wasn't for the 'gift' they left behind i might not have solved the mystery! your paintings are lovely, i'm glad you are at a point in your life where you can spend time creating...it's very rewarding and therapeutic!

Sorry to hear you had a rough day with pain. Your paintings are wonderful!

What a cute, little bunny! Are you going to paint him/her?

Hi Deborah,

I think your tomato thief knows good veggies when he sees them! Bunnies will eat most any kind of vegetation. And tomatoes must be like dessert to him!

Hope you are still practicing with your acrylics and that you are having a good day.

Gosh, Deborah, I'm so sorry to hear about such debilitating pain. That must be a lot to contend with. Your work is wonderful. I love the elongated format on the fishermen. Great composition. We've got bunnies, too, but no tomato plants. We do have quite a few decapitated flowers, though! Glad you've got to enjoy at least one whole tomato so far. Sending good, healing thoughts your way.
